Capitalism FAQ - The Center for the Advancement of Capitalism

Mental Toughness

What separates the men from the boys, the Eagles from the turkeys and the winers from the losers? What stops us from quitting and running away? What builds empires and achieves greatness? A small percentage of people have this admirable quality: Mental Toughness. They believe in themselves and their dreams and they are determined to win, whatever it takes.

By reading about the accomplishments of great people, listening to their speeches and mixing with winners, we are encouraged, motivated and inspired to toughen up even more. Zig Ziglar says, "When you are tough on yourself, life is going to be infinitely easier on you." Self discipline is essential to winning the game. And Friedrich Nietzschne said, "For a tree to become tall, it must grow tough roots among the rocks."

I encourage you to listen to and read these powerful movie speeches right now:
Preston Thomas Tucker, in the movie, “Tucker”,
General George Patton in the movie, “Patton”,
And Ayn Rand’s Howard Roark character in “The Fountainhead”
Let’s end off with listening to the cowardly lion in the Wizard of Oz:
